Hiya! Saw 0.19 released which brought some docs update, right? I'm not sure if it's on my end but searching on old versions of the docs (<https://docs.kedro.org/en/0.17.1/index.html>) seems to have stopped working, and there's a new banner mentioning that it's old docs.

if you click the 0.17.1 at the bottom of your link you can select the specific version

‘stable’ is always the latest release

I mean that when I search within the old version of the docs, for example searching "partitioned" in the search bar, it just returns a blank results screen

for example: <https://docs.kedro.org/en/0.17.1/search.html?q=partitioned&amp;check_keywords=yes&amp;area=default>

I'm not sure if it's on my end though, maybe you can quickly check?

if you’re desperate you can close that version of kedro and build the docs locally

Nah, not desperate, I can navigate using the sidebar as always, but thank you!

This is probably because we’re not supporting full docs for all versions anymore. We support until `0.17.7` as you can see when you click the read the docs menu on the bottom right.

The search should still work though, so that’s something we need to check <@U03RYKEPKDG>

we might need to report this upstream to RTD. on it

as an alternative <@U0495B76UG1> you can use the RTD flyout search:

What's the difference between normal search and flyout? The flyout actually feels faster than normal search (could very well be placebo though)

from a front-end perspective, the flyout implements a new "search-as-you-type" modal. in recent Kedro versions, we took that to override the "normal" search. you can see that for yourself: <https://docs.kedro.org/en/0.19.1/>

from a back-end perspective, the search results come from the RTD servers, which index the whole documentation using an OpenSearch-like engine that supposedly yields more relevant results.

update: the 0.17 builds were using very old versions of Sphinx and this sadly won't be fixed <https://github.com/readthedocs/addons/issues/219#issuecomment-1860154620>
