DATASET FACTORY Hi Everyone, I’m experimenting with dataset factories. I had managed to make it make work 30min ago, and now can’t… 😕 go figure 😅 If any of you can’t spot what I’m doing wrong, please let me know 🙂 Thx
are you on Kedro 0.18.11?
m
This feature hasn’t been released yet, so it will only work if you have installed Kedro from main. This isn’t something we usually recommend though as features might still change if they’re not yet released.

But super cool you’re excited to try @Marc Gris !
I’ve always wanted to explore doing release candidates perhaps this is a good push for that :)

Hi everyone, Thx for your answers. @Juan Luis I thought I was on 0.18.11… Since I’ve have been able to use the feature, ever so briefly, I guess, as pointed by @Merel that I probably have a venv with kedro installed from main… I may have unknowingly switched interpreters or something of that sort… @datajoely Super exciting indeed. I must confess that I have a bit of an “anti-duplication neurosis” 😅 By the way, as I pointed to Nok Lam Chan in another thread: The dataset factory syntax would also be really nice with parameters ! (even if the usecase does not seem obvious, for “syntax consistency” sake… 😉 ) Thx again M.

@Merel Sorry… I’m just a little confused by something… If it hasn’t been released yet, why is it in the documentation for “latest” ? 🙂 As a “teaser” / “spoiler” ? 😉

latest
stands for "latest development version" and
stable
stands for... "_latest_ (oops) stable version", maybe a good indicator that we should rename
latest
to
unreleased
or
dev
or something 😄
m
Ok thx @Juan Luis , I was indeed under the false impression that
latest
referred to
latest release
… those are just conventions of course but
unreleased
or
dev
would indeed avoid any possible confusion 🙂
